twenty twelve

2012 was a good year. The girls have grown so much in the past year. They lost their baby look and now look more like kids. School has matured them so much! It has been really good for them. They are like sponges soaking up whatever they are learning at school. They love their teacher and classroom aide and are learning a lot about the real world (or the West Michigan world, at least).

Keegan
Keegan continues to be such a sweetie! She is a good listener and is the first to offer to help someone out. Keegan loves anything art related and says she either wants to be an artist or a doctor when she grows up. Joy was a good middle name for her because she really does bring joy to those around her.

Samantha
Samantha continues to provide so much fun to our family. She continues to excel in the dramatic! I will be shocked if she isn't in drama some day. She is extremely expressive with her eyes and can display many emotions in remarkable ways. She is also our fashion police. Samantha likes to tell me what to wear and how to do my hair, even what makeup to put on. She is a fun kid.

Maggie
Maggie continues to be our tomboy. She too provides so much fun in our lives. She is funny and keeps us all laughing (sometimes unintentionally, which doesn't go over very well when we laugh). She tends to look up to most men and play a boy role in the girls house games. However, Maggie has begun idolizing her female teacher. This is the first female that Maggie looks up to. The teacher is extremely laid back (which is good for Maggie) and isn't a girly girl. She told the girls about her ability to do a back flip soccer kick and Maggie has been in awe ever since.

Cooper & Izzy
We got 2 puppies this year and often wonder what we were thinking?! No, they are great. Life is just very interesting with 2 puppies around. (I think we have 20 socks missing their mate.) Cooper is a maltipoo that we got in January. He is very jumpy, easily startled, and barky when he gets scared (small dog syndrome). And the craziest things scare him (leaves blowing in the wind, soccer balls, etc.) He is a fun addition to the family and is considered my lapdog.

Izzy is Thad's dog. He wanted a "real" dog stating that lapdogs aren't real dogs (lol). So we got Izzy in September from the Humane Society. We don't know her breed but are enjoying her company. She is very laid back and wants desperately to please us. She is at the floppy puppy stage where she crashes into people and runs on the wood floors and slides around, having difficulty getting her feet to work properly.

We are thankful for the many blessings that God gave us in 2012. We hope and pray that the new year will be filled with lots of love and laughter. Happy New Year!
